Patricia "Pat" DaSilva of Brooklyn, New York, formerly of Georgetown, Guyana, South America, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the age of 89. Pat was born in Mocha, East Bank, Demerara, Guyana, South America, on February 23, 1931. A graduate of Alleynes' High School, she soon married Henry Stephen (Deceased). She had six children: Jacqueline, Terrence Keevil. Horace Ovil (Deceased), Deborah Ann, Paulette Faye and F. Michelle. Following her second marriage to Sigmund Grosvenor, Sr. Pat moved to the United States and completed her degree in Management at the American Business Institute, NYC. For many years she was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Red Bank, New Jersey where she was a choir member. She was well-travelled but loved Trinidad and Tobago the most. She was a fan of the arts and acted in and directed many plays at Guyana's Theatre Guild. She enjoyed listening and singing along to opera music and entertaining her family. She was talented, effervescent and creative. One of her most significant accomplishments was being a published author of a novel entitled, "Disastrous Destiny", (Barnes and Noble), which is still in circulation. She continued working on other publications until her death. In later years, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and loved reading books: one of her favourites was Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. Pat is remembered for her impeccable taste in clothing and jewellery and her love for entertaining. She was admired for her fearlessness which earned her the nickname "The Mighty Pat." A phenomenal woman who could discuss any topic with vigour and could impart great lessons in social etiquette. She will be missed by countless family and friends.
Those left to cherish Pat's memory include her children, Jacqueline Bacon (Dewitt), Terrence Keevil Stephen (Gwen), Horace Ovil Stephen (Deceased), Deborah Ann Stephens, Paulette Faye Nwaogu (Innocent) and F. Michelle Case-Ramalho (Christopher); her grandchildren, Roy Allicock (Juann), Aretha Watson (Gary), Sasha McWilliams (Rasheed), Shomari Soloman (Deceased), Kezia Johnson, Ashley Carter, Fredrick Dean Case (Amber) and Dewitt Bacon; her great-grandchildren, Elijah Allicock, Tatiana Allicock, Skylar Allicock, Alex Watson, Jafar)Karmal Johnson and Cora Case; her many nephews and nieces, Zorina Patricia DaSilva, her God-daughter Brenda Allicock, Keith and Janet Stephen and countless relatives around the world.
Beloved Sons-In-Law; Leroy Solomon (Deceased), Clifford (DD) Leach, Dewitt Bacon, Innocent Nwaogu and Christopher Ramalho. Daughters-In-Law: Neermala Pam Stephen and Gwen Stephen. She is survived by her Brother-In-Law, Cloyde Stephen, predeceased by her parents, Veronica Adams-Eversley and Louis Jose DaSilva; Siblings; Jose Louis DaSilva, John DaSilva, Basil DaSilva and half-sister, Julie DaSilva-Greene.
Legacy: Pat leaves a rich legacy of accomplishments and careers, including time spent as a Beauty Queen (Mackenzie, Guyana SA circa the 1950s); a Librarian a Project Manager with (Terra Surveys, Land Surveyors Canada). Office Manager, Aubrey Barker and Associates Architectural Consultants and for Georgetown Seafoods, she was also a private tutor of shorthand, typing, a yoga instructor and Human Resources Executive in the Insurance (IIAOA) and import/export industries worldwide. Most importantly, she was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and matriarch to her extended family. May her soul sleep in eternal peace.
