Obituary for Nicholas Lachaga

Nicholas
"Nick" Gerard Lachaga, born November 14, 1954 in Manhattan, NY grew ib Flatbush, Brooklyn and attended Holy Cross Grammer School and Manhattan School of Printing High School. Growing up, he and his family attended St Vincent Ferrer Church in Brooklyn.

Nick was a Cub Scout and loving fishing for bluefish with his father, Izzy (an ex-merchant marine) and his brother, Phil, on boats out of Sheepshead Bay. Nick grew up surrounded by big family get-togethers at their house complete with the best italian food and lots of loving family.

Nick was a longtime member of the Silver Masque Players, an acting group out of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Brooklyn, traveling extensively with the group throughout The United States and Canada. He enjoyed photography and filled many photo albums with the photos he took on his trips with The Silver Masque Players.

He completed in league bowling at Farragut Lanes, was a competitive dart thrower earing many plaques, and over the years his spare time bartending at The Knight of Columbus in Brooklyn.

Nick was a warm and loving individual who was liked by all. He will be dearly missed.

Nick recently retired after over 35 years as Manager of Shipping and Receiving at Carnegie Fabrics in Rockville Centre, Long Island.

Nick was predeceased by his father, Isidro "Izzy" J. Lachaga, and mother, Madeline Schiralli Lachaga. Nick is survived by his brother Philip G. Lachaga, Sister-in-law Victoria Lachaga, Goddaughter/Niece Kristina Lachaga, many cousins, including Diana Dvorak, Joanne Weed, Nancy Place, extended family and friends.
