Landy, Joseph Edward, age 65, retired N.Y.P.D. Detective Sergeant, passed away on December 6, 2020. He was predeceased by, and is now reunited with, his beloved wife Rosanna and parents Anna and Frank Landy. He is survived by his cherished daughter Christina, sister Louise Landy Scudese and brother Frank, and nephews Paul and Anthony Scudese, among a host of relatives.

a Brooklyn native, Joe graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a degree in Industrial Arts, and where he was proud member of Psi Phi Gamma Fraternity, whose brethren deeply mourn their Brother's passing. Joe joined the N.Y.P.D. in 1984, and was later promoted to Narcotics Detective and thereafter Detective Sergeant. He served in various investigative assignments, and retired after a 20 year career. In recent years, Joe split time between Brooklyn and his second home in McGaheysville, Virginia. His prized 1962 Corvette was a sight to behold.

Joe would do anything for the people he loved, going out of his way to help those in need. Always with a smile and a quick joke, "Handy Joe" was always there to lend a helping hand and calming presence. His spirit will live on in all those who knew and loved him.
