John V. Coughlin Jr. lived a life filled with kindness and generosity. John was born on October 4th, 1945 to Helen and John Coughlin and remained a lifelong Brooklynite.
John shared many years of happy memories with his extended families. the Coughlin and Tacconi clans--sisters and brother-in laws Patricia, Jeff, Danny, Phyllis, Maureen. Neil. and Tommy. Jeff and Patricia (Coughlin) Tacconi made him the proud uncle of Jeff (Vanessa) and Cynthia (Anthony) and grand uncle to Thomas, Liv, John, Allison. Maureen Coughlin and Neil Firtle made him the proud uncle of Bridget (Harry), Kathleen and grand uncle to Neilan. John was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Danny and Tommy, and his brother-in-law, Neil Firtle.
John will surely be missed by his family and friends.
John attended Our Lady Help of Christians Elementary School. St John;s High School and St Francis College-all Brooklyn insitutions. After attending graduate school at Indiana University John entered the armed forces and served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War Era.
John devoted his many decades of work to helping others navigate the Social Security Admonistration to obtain the benefits that would serve them well.
Gentleman John, as he was called by many, deserved the title as he was a gentleman to all.
