Obituary for Eglon J. Peterkin
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Eglon Peterkin, born in Brooklyn, New York on June 5th, 1947 and passed away on December 2, 2023.
Eglon was an Air Force veteran and was honorably discharged. He spent almost 40 years as an engineer at Verizon, and was also an entrepreneur and owner of several businesses which included restaurants and video stores. He was also the former President of the Pennsylvania Avenue Radio Control Society.
Eglon has a special way of making friends with everyone he met. He had a special way of lighting up the room and was loved by all that took the time to get to know him. He enjoyed building and flying airplanes, listening to jazz and blues, playing the guitar, driving his Corvette, taking care of his garden, watching his son Justin play basketball and baseball as well as watching the Jets and his favorite football player Patrick Mahomes.
Eglon marries his beloved wife Suzanne over 30 years ago in Brooklyn, New York.
He is survived by his son Justin, daughter-in-law Rachel and his sister, Lisa. He is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne as well as his sister, Lorraine.
A funeral service will be held at The John J. McManus Funeral Home 4601 Avenue N Brooklyn, New York 11234 on January 6th at 1:00pm.
Eglon will be deeply missed by his family members, friends, colleagues and everyone whose lives he touched during his time on earth. May we be comforted in knowing he lived a full life surrounded by those who meant so much to him.
