Carole Purpura ( April 21, 1948 - October 6, 2020) Carole Purpura, born and raised in Brooklyn, was a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She retired from the Brooklyn Public Library after many years of service. Fiercely independent, Carole was well informed and opinionated, with a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
